Hydroactive Top Dressing – Soil Transformation – Mr. Green Grass® contains everything you need to revitalize soil and boost grass growth while inhibiting moss and fungal development. It thoroughly enhances soil structure by enriching it with nutrients, increasing permeability, and improving water retention. Thanks to its iron content, your lawn will be less prone to moss and fungal diseases.
This product is suitable for use on any lawn. It is typically applied after verticutting, aeration, and overseeding. It works particularly well on problem lawns—e.g., those with moss, excessive acidity, or poor drainage. We also strongly recommend using it after every seeding and verticutting session.
Remember to store the top dressing in a cool, dry place in its original, unopened packaging, out of reach of children and pets. Do not repackage.
Top Dressing After Verticutting – Recovery, Leveling, and Growth Support
After verticutting—which removes moss, old thatch, and compacted organic debris—the surface becomes uneven and loses its natural “base” for uniform growth. Applying Hydroactive Top Dressing at this stage is crucial. With it you:
- Level the lawn surface by filling hollows, ensuring better seed-to-soil contact for overseeding.
- Improve soil structure by adding nutrients and enhancing water retention, supporting turf recovery and growth.
- Boost overseeding efficiency as the even dressing layer creates ideal conditions for seed germination and rooting.
Top Dressing After Aeration – Maintaining Pores, Improving Drainage, and Root Support
Aeration creates holes to reduce compaction and allow water, air, and nutrients into the root zone. Applying Hydroactive Top Dressing afterward delivers key benefits:
- Pore maintenance: Filling holes with a thin dressing layer extends aeration effects.
- Improved drainage: Quartz sand and basalt meal prevent rapid soil compaction.
- Root growth support: Natural additives bolster root system development.
Composition
Dolomitic peat: Improves soil structure, water and nutrient retention, and balances pH.
Quartz sand: Enhances permeability and prevents waterlogging.
Basalt meal: Provides microelements (Mg, Fe, Ca) and stimulates microbes.
Zeolite: Acts as a nutrient reservoir and improves water retention.
Iron sulfate: Controls moss, fungal diseases, and intensifies turf colour.
Application
Hydroactive Top Dressing – Soil Transformation – Mr. Green Grass® can be used from April through October. One 30 L bag covers 10 m².
Post-verticutting application
- Spread a 3–5 mm layer of top dressing manually, with a mesh roller or a spreader.
- Work the dressing into the turf with a broom, rake, or brush to fill gaps and embed it into the soil.
- To set the dressing, water the lawn thoroughly for 30 minutes per 100 m².
Post-verticutting and overseeding application
- After verticutting, spread seeds according to the manufacturer’s rate.
- Apply 2–3 kg of self-thickening grass seed per 100 m².
- Spread top dressing evenly (3–5 mm) manually, with a mesh roller or spreader.
- Gently level the dressing with a broom, rake, or brush.
- To set the dressing, water the lawn thoroughly for 30 minutes per 100 m².
- Water daily until germination to maintain moisture.
