Sports Lawn Seed Mix – Pro Performance – Mr. Green Grass®

If you’re looking for a grass mix that delivers a durable, fast-growing, and dense turf designed for heavy use, Sports Lawn Seed Mix – Pro Performance is an excellent choice. This new seed blend combines two key species: meadow fescue and perennial ryegrass, ensuring an attractive and resilient lawn.

Meadow fescue is prized for its ability to form a dense sward and withstand heavy use. Its strong root system provides turf stability and damage resistance, and it tolerates low mowing well—making it ideal for sports pitches and home lawns.

Perennial ryegrass is characterised by exceptionally rapid germination and recovery. It excels in high-traffic areas, quickly densifying the turf and maintaining a healthy appearance. Thanks to its flexibility and toughness, it is indispensable on recreational lawns and sports fields.

The combination of these two species in Sports Lawn Seed Mix – Pro Performance ensures your turf remains exceptionally resilient, dense, and green throughout the season. It’s the ideal choice for anyone seeking high durability and an attractive appearance.

How to Sow and Maintain Your Sports Lawn

Sports Lawn Seed Mix – Pro Performance can be sown from March to mid-October in favourable weather conditions, avoiding drought and frost. Recommended rate: 25–35 g of seed per 1 m².

Before sowing, use a rotary tiller to loosen the topsoil, then rake and level the area thoroughly. Distribute the seed evenly using a rotary or drop spreader, lightly rake, roll with a lawn roller, and water generously. During germination, maintain constant soil moisture by watering twice daily for 2–3 weeks. After that period, water regularly—typically twice weekly with 10–15 litres per m²—adjusting frequency to the weather.

The first mowing can be done when the grass reaches 8–10 cm in height, cutting it back to 5 cm.
