Autumn Lawn Feed – Winter Survival – Mr. Green Grass® supports your lawn throughout the autumn period and prepares it for winter. It protects the turf over the winter months by increasing the lawn’s resistance to severe frost. What’s more, it stimulates tillering so that the grass is strong and ready to grow come spring. The formula is based on potassium and phosphorus, which enhance the grass’s resilience to low temperatures and diseases. Additionally, our product is environmentally friendly.

In the autumn lawn feed, we have used advanced Enhanced GRF technology (Gradual Release Fertiliser) allowing for slow release, controlled, and even release of nutrients at the optimal moment.
The factors determining the release rate of a fixed dose of the substance are specifically defined soil moisture and temperature. Other factors such as pH, EC or the microbial activity of the soil do not influence the process. The technology is based on a polymer coating containing nutrients inside. Water present in the soil penetrates through the semi-permeable coating into the granule, then dissolves and releases the enclosed content. Once the entire supply is exhausted, the empty coating undergoes biodegradation in the soil.
It is worth remembering that traditional fertilisers leach away quickly, causing element deficiencies at the time when plants are growing intensively and have a higher demand for nutrients. In the case of care with Mr. Green Grass fertiliser, this problem is practically eliminated thanks to the constant supply of nutrients. Therefore, it is the innovative Enhanced GRF technology that forms the basis of the outstanding effectiveness and high performance of this lawn feed, in order to best match the nutritional needs of the grass.
Application
Autumn Lawn Feed – Winter Survival – Mr. Green Grass® is the fourth step of care. Apply it once in September, October or November, preferably directly after mowing to a height of 5 cm.
Spread it evenly using a rotary spreader at a rate of 3–4 kg per 100 m² (30–40 g/m²). Note: Never spread lawn feed by hand, as this will cause uneven growth or even scorch the grass.
After application, water the lawn generously. Remember that some granules will remain visible – these will release nutrients throughout the winter. With the arrival of spring, to continue care, move to step one and apply Early Spring Lawn Feed – Quick Recovery – Mr. Green Grass®.

The best time to apply step 4 is before the soil freezes completely. It is important that the plant manages to absorb the potassium and phosphorus before entering winter hibernation. Applying the feed during this weather window guarantees optimal strengthening of the root system before the first snows.
Autumn rains are actually an ally, as they help dissolve the granules and transport phosphorus and potassium deep into the soil profile. Enhanced GRF technology protects the nutrients from leaching too quickly, keeping them in the root zone throughout the winter. As a result, the lawn has constant access to strengthening minerals, even when you stop providing intensive care.
Spring lawn feeds contain a lot of nitrogen, which forces the grass to grow; this is very dangerous in autumn and leads to the freezing of young shoots. Step 4 has a negligible amount of nitrogen and focuses on potassium and phosphorus, which promote the lignification of tissues and root development instead of growth. Using the wrong fertiliser at this time of year could result in the total destruction of the turf during severe frosts.
The fertiliser strengthens the immune resistance of grasses, making them less susceptible to fungal pathogens developing under the snow cover. Well-nourished turf in autumn is more compact and dry inside, which limits environments conducive to rotting. By applying Step 4, you minimise the risk of unsightly brown patches that often haunt lawns after the spring thaw.
